Risk management
Percentage-based sizing calculates lot size from account balance and the selected risk setting; fixed lots are optional. Start with conservative settings and test on a demo account. Spread, slippage, gaps and broker minimum lots can change actual risk.
Recommended setup
XAUUSD / Gold · MetaTrader 5 · M15 · H1 trend analysis · automated trading. For historical testing, use “Every tick based on real ticks” where available. Broker symbol specifications, commissions, leverage and historical data can affect results.

How do I use the free tester demo?
Download the tester-only EX5, then in MT5 for Windows:
- Choose File → Open Data Folder. Copy the EX5 into MQL5 → Experts, then right-click Expert Advisors in Navigator and select Refresh.
- Open Strategy Tester with Ctrl+R and select Claude_GoldTrend_Pro_Tester_Demo as the Expert Advisor.
- Choose XAUUSD (or your broker’s gold symbol), M15, and a historical date range. Select Every tick based on real ticks if available.
- Leave Forward set to No for your first run. Optionally enable Visualization, then click Start.
- Review the Graph, Results, Report and Journal, including drawdown and history quality, as well as profit.
The demo works only in Strategy Tester; it will not run on a connected demo or live trading account. Historical results do not guarantee future performance.
